Ouchies...

Tuesday is going to be an ouchie day in the Steiner household. =(

The boys are both going in for surgery in the afternoon for some repair work in their "boy regions".  Since this is a record of our family, I want to include this, their first surgeries, but I also want to be sensitive so they are not embarrassed down the road if they decide to read it!

So in vague terms, since the boys were born so prematurely, they each have something that didn't make it all the way down to the final place it was meant to be.  It is imperative for these things to be in the right spot for development and function as they grow. Also, poor little Jack had a little complication with the healing of his circumcision, and that will be repaired as well.  So our poor little guys will have their first major medical event next week, other than being born at 28 weeks and growing up their first few months in the NICU. The doctor said that their recovery time should be about 36 hours, and they'll be up and about again!  SuperDaddy is going to take a day off work to be here to cuddle the adorable patients, and we are so thankful for a good doctor that will take great care of them!

And, like the good identical twins they are, they'll even have matching scars on their lower tummies! How funny is that?!

Double the pleasure, double the fun... Isn't that how it goes? No one mentioned "double the surgery, double the recovery!" I'll be thinking good thoughts for all four of you as you make it through surgery & back to full health!

My Eli had the circumcision revision and the something else you're talking about - I think it's the same! The only hard part was the coming out of anesthesia part. He was mad!! He was a little younger, though, 15 months!

We'll be thinking about you!
